Quiet Down Pets™ was created by two educators who recognized a need for greater support for young children during school safety drills and emergencies. After experiencing lockdown drills firsthand and seeing how difficult they can be for children, we began asking an important question: How can we help young students feel more prepared, focused, and calm while still following their school’s safety procedures?

 

With backgrounds in education and years of experience working with children, we developed Quiet Down Pets as a simple, practical resource that complements the important work already being done by schools and security professionals. Our hope is to give educators another tool to support children before, during, and after appropriate drills and emergencies and to help schools prepare for the emotional needs of their youngest students.

 

We created Quiet Down Pets with one goal in mind: to help children feel more prepared, more supported, and more brave when they need it most.
